FAQ

  • At The Hassocks Dog Walker, your dog’s safety and comfort come first. My specially equipped van features individual secure crates, each with a fresh, cosy blanket for every journey. Blankets are changed between walks to ensure a clean, inviting space. In the warmer months, your dog will travel in a fully air-conditioned van to keep them cool and comfortable throughout the ride.

  • All of my walks last at least 1 hour, excluding pick-up and drop-off time. Your dog will be collected in my fully ventilated, air-conditioned van which is equipped with spacious, comfortable, and secure crates for their safety and comfort.

  • The Group Walks take place in several parts of Mid Sussex, in and around Hassocks, Ditchling, Hurstpierpoint and Burgess Hill. I carefully plan my walks so that the dogs can be safe off-lead.

  • I like to keep my group walks small, and new dogs are kept on a lead until I'm confident in their recall and have your consent. I'll keep you updated on their progress and provide daily feedback once I start walking your dog.

  • You don’t need to be at home for the pick-up or drop-off if a key is provided. I am fully DBS checked, and your keys will be kept in a secure location when not in use, with no identifying marks. I take great care to always ensure the safety and privacy of your home and keys.

  • Yes, I take extra care after each walk, to make sure your dog is cleaned up — whether that’s wiping off their paws, drying them off, or giving them a full wipe down to keep them fresh and comfortable when they return home. I also have a portable shower in the van for those very wet walks!

  • Yes, I am extremely flexible and will always do my best to fit your dog(s) into my weekly schedule.

  • Yes, I do offer weekend walks! I understand how busy schedules can be, so I’m happy to provide walks on both Saturdays and Sundays, to accommodate your needs.

  • I offer a free meet-and-greet to get to know both you and your dog. Please contact me to find out more.

  • Absolutely! If your dog is nervous around others, I can offer solo walks to ensure their safety and comfort. My priority is always your pet’s well-being. Group walks can also help improve socialisation skills.

  • Yes, I have comprehensive insurance, specifically designed for professional dog walking.

  • I have Pet First aid training, and in the event of an emergency, I will take immediate action to ensure your dog’s safety. I will contact you right away to inform you of the situation and, if necessary, take your dog to its veterinary clinic. I always prioritise your dog’s well-being and will keep you updated throughout the process.

  • I am very flexible but kindly ask for 48 hours notice if you wish to modify or cancel a booking. However, I understand that emergencies happen, so please reach out as soon as possible, and I will do my best to accommodate you.

  • Every Friday, I’ll send an invoice to your email. Payments can be made via bank transfer or cash if you prefer.
